A good time was had by all on December 3rd when Bonnie hosted Mama Ruby, by Mary Monroe
Bonnie opened the event with a lovely prayer and presented all of us with a holiday jingle bell necklace in our choice of silver or gold to coordinate with our outfits (now that's unique!).
All members were present and the dialogue was lively and interesting. Many points of view were discussed which afforded us the opportunity to agree and disagree on various topics (debating always makes a book club event more liberating!). Bonnie used discernment when monitoring the discussion, allowing everyone to engage.
Dee invited a guest who assisted U.S. G.I.R.L.S. in the proper format for the "White Elephant" gift exchange, making it a "HUGE" (no pun intended) success. We all agreed that we should read the "sequel" to "Mama Ruby" (The Upper Room), in February. Dee recently read the sequel and promises that it will not disappoint.
Bonnie presented each lady with a party favor bag to take home and enjoy.
U.S. G.I.R.L.S. are encouraged to go to Amazon.com and write a review for "Mama Ruby" as well as past and future book selections.
