Member, Bonnie introduced Charna to the book club when she invited her to our October meting where we discussed Kimberla Lawson Roby's "Best Friends Forever"	Junise Fann Author of "Kissed a Lot Of Frogs" signs copies of her relationship memoir for us.
	So good to see an author that we have read participating in the book festival. We read "Glowing Embers In a Dying Fire" Angelia Vernon Menchan co-authored, in December 2014.	Bonnie selected Kimberla Lawson Roby's books twice for our meetings. We were able to capture this photo before a gracious Ms. Roby took the podium.as Bonnie had to leave for work. What were the odds that we could accomplish this? #DivineIntervention

	San Marco Book Store asks U.S. G.I.R.L.S. to consider their store for a meeting venue in the near future.	What a moment!! Meeting Kimblerla Lawson Roby and having our books signed. The line was long, but we had a fun-filled time waiting with other readers.

Author and former creative writer of hit show "Empire" Attica Locke takes the stage on Festival morning!! Holding nothing back, she spoke about her Texas roots, Hwy 59, racial injustices, slavery, political climate and much more. She went "HARD" with her views and assessments! JayBee asked the final question regarding leaving "Empire" and focusing on writing. She laughed and said that she just knew someone would ask that question!! After which she acknowledge that "she" left.
	Twitter interactor, "The Booksmith" called out..."It's U.S.G.I.R.L.S. when we were at Attica Locke's tent. She said she heard about the book festival because we tweeted and drove from Seneca, SC. She was excited to meet us and we were excited to meet her as well
Tayari signed our books early as she knew her line would be long, especially since her book, "An American Marriage" is an Oprah pick! The main character is named, Celestial after our frequent guest pictured. The two met during the Mama Francina's G.U.I.L.D. Fancy Hat Literary Luncheon, 2011 She told Celestial her name was "pretty" and asked her if she could use it in her next novel, to which Celestial replied.."sure" The rest is history! The original name of the novel was "Dear History"	Tayari shows JayBee what a teenager taught her about taking "selfies" Uhhhh, it did not really work, though...

	Rickey Smiley walks in with Val, Lauryn, Karen, Dianne and Dee...He was late because he said he could not find a parking spot.	Val's friend, Sheryle takes a moment with her after Mr. Smiley's set to take a photo with his debut novel.
Rickey was startled by the women in front of me as well as my camera flash. He was a victim of a shooting and close proximity photography tends to startle him.
